Happiness in financial terms

Last month(march) is the end of financial year 2009-10. I am also a lazy guy like lot others, who will think about savings and investments only in the month of march. I was busy in selecting funds. The major principle in selecting funds is "The more risk you take the more returns you get". I feel this logic will also apply to happiness in our life.

I categorize some items which are very common in every one's life.

Low Risk: vacations or outings, watching movies & sports, shopping etc.
Medium Risk: Smoking, drinking alcohol etc.
High Risk: Girl friend/Boy friend, wife/husband, having child etc.

Low risk items will give you less happiness and high risk items will give you more happiness. I guess getting married or having child are the extreme happy moments in life. But those are really risky things. If you got a bad partner or you don't know how to handle kids or how to plan your children career, your life may become complete mess.

Smoking and consuming alcohol will give you good amount of happiness, but you may spoil your health. But i feel drinking will be better than having a girl friend. I am very poor in understanding girls. And i can't entertain any girl all over the night in phone. I can't dedicate my entire life to one girl.As of now, i am not enough mature to go for high risk things. Cheers.
