Delhi Rape and people reaction

I see people over reacting to Delhi's gang rape. In each city in India more than 365 rapes happening per year. It means on an average there is one rape happening per day in each city. These are the just numbers registered in police records. Think about girls who are suffering with harassment and won't inform to anyone even to their parents by feeling shame.

When we talk about RAPE I got some interesting thoughts. We all are talking about boys raping girls. But see this. As a citizen of India:
We raped human values.
We raped all the morals.
We raped our culture.
We raped so many rules in IPC.

Politicians raping democracy.
S/w engineers raping the source code.
Education system raping children's life & career.

As a highly educated people we are doing all these. So rape is not a big thing we need be worried of. I'm ignoring the Delhi rape news in 2 days and you will ignore it in 2 weeks. Thats all. Nothing more than this will happen. Don't waste your time by updating messages in facebook and twitter. Don't waste time by protesting against laws and government. If you want to do something, then do this:

Respect laws.
Respect Morals.
Respect human.
Respect our culture.
Spread this to everyone around you.

At least your next generation will have good behavior.

Just facts

This post is written just to provide facts to future generations who might never get a chance to know them.

  1. Education is what makes your life better and happier and not what helps you earn more money.
  2. Doctor is who cure people's diseases not who earns more money.
  3. Government employees are servants of public and not who eats public money freely.
  4. Dress was intended to cover body parts. Same for both boys and girls.
  5. Gadgets were invented to make people life simpler.
  6. Education was used to be source of knowledge and not the source of job.
  7. There was a time every family member were talking to each other everyday.
  8. Traffic police in Indian cities are not appointed to collect bribe. Their job is to make sure people won't face any issues in the traffic.

Keep them simple

There are some things which we are making complicated but can be handled in very simple way.

One example is how we handled mosquitoes over the years. Scientists have invented Mats, Coils, Liquids and skin creams etc. We are using them in every home. But the problem still remains. OK. We will keep it simple and think in simple way. Mostly the birth place of mosquitoes are unclean premises like garbage, stagnant water etc,. So if we keep our locality clean then there is less chance of mosquitoes taking birth. Thats it. we got the solution.

One more example, how we keep our diet healthy. With all our basic education, we know our body needs Vitamins, Proteins, Fiber etc. So companies started selling packaged food where some items contain more fiber, some contains more vitamins etc. In the past couple of years, people started buying them by seeing the ADs. Some people even started eating vitamin tablets and Iron tablets. But people are not so healthy after having all these. OK. We will keep it simple and think in simple way. Before we got the packaged food, people were eating fresh fruits and vegetables. And they were healthy. Thats it. We got the solution. Eat fresh and stay healthy.

Its always better to think in simple way rather than making it complicated. We have to remember, very big locks will be opened with small keys.

Understanding God - Part 2

From the very young age I'm listening about GOD by many means. My parents told some stories. Friends, Books, TV also gave me many stories saying GOD is great, GOD is good. Everyone believes the same. I never opposed it, but I have a feeling that we didn't understand it properly. Because if you think GOD is great & good and he created this world, then why we are seeing bad, unhappy, hatred, cheating more than good, happy in this world . That is the time I started the process of understanding god. You can see the Part 1 of this series at Understanding God - Part1

In this generation you cannot think of GOD outside Religion. People made it that way. Seriously, now Religion is dominating GOD. So first we need to think the origins of religion.

The people who believe & follow Bible are called as Christians. People who are adherent to Quran are called as Muslims. The people who are living across Sindhu river are called as Hindus. Thats all. Religion is more about life style, beliefs.

Some nice thought: If people between two religions are fighting, do you think they will get support from the gods of respective religions? Then can we consider him as god?

So if we have to really understand GOD we have to think outside the religion. Bcoz GOD exists prior to religions and religions are something just created by people.

Note: I cannot conclude anything until I understand GOD. These are just my thoughts and hope I understand GOD soon.

why can't people understand this

I do something good and believe they will lead me to a good life. But somehow people around me are not able to follow this. Some people doesn't even understand it, even though they are well educated.
  1. Traffic
  2. Pollution
  3. Unhealthy life
These are the common problems people are facing in city life. For all these problems there is a simple solution. CYCLING.
The first thing comes in everyone's mind is: It is very tough to cycle long distance. For all of them, I'm the best example. When I planned to buy bi-cycle, my resolution was to cycle just one day in a week. But starting from day one, still after 2 years, my preferred way of commuting to office is CYCLING. You will feel so easy once you start cycling. And also you will feel so proud for changing your life for GOOD cause.

I do cycling for 20 kms a day and I never felt tough or tired. There are so many people doing for 40 kms also never complained about tough. So you can think again for a golden chance to make your city life better.

If you can't do anything good for yourself then you have to blame yourself for your bad future.

Power cut

This weekend no plans to go outside and  I thought TV and internet are my best time pass. 100+ channels and infinite websites, but still I started feeling bored by evening. Suddenly POWER went off and BOOM. No TV, No Internet. My boring disappeared and interesting ideas started flowing in my mind. I played old Telugu songs in laptop(special thanks to SP Balu. He gave us thousands of classics).  By listening to those old songs, my mom started recollecting olden days. Memories of Radio,Grand mother and so on...... Any given time, those kind of talks gives a good feeling. I solved Rubicks cube. I felt like I had a very pleasant time with out POWER.
It will be good, if power go off everyday for at least 2 hours and we don't use generator, UPS etc. People must have pleasant mind for at least 2 hours in a day. Isn't it?

Art of deleting

People say I have a bad habit of deleting unnecessary files in the computer. Sometimes it creates problem to others if they stored that file in my computer and if they want that in future. But I really don't want to keep Junk in my computer by any chance.
Not only in my computer, I don't want to keep any junk in my mind also. That gives me more space in my mind to think of beautiful things in the world. If someone cheats me or if I lose something, I can easily move on from that.
If someone cheats me, the only thing I can do is taking precautions so that I wont get cheated next time. There is no point in sitting worried and getting angry on someone. It will just put burden on the mind and ruin the pleasant life. In the same way if I loose something which I cannot recover, I will ignore that immediately.
When my sister got married and left to groom's house and when some close colleague friends left the company I felt very sad and I went down for couple of days. That is the time I realized, "These all are part of life which we cannot change them. We just have to face them". Then onwards I never went depressed for losing small things in my life. I deleted those sad moments of missing them and preserved the happy moments they shared with me. Thats the way I deal with human relationships.

Absent mindedness

Absent mindedness is not the quality people like to have but it will give you some funny memories. I felt  some of my experiences are worth of sharing here.

Searching for the mobile phone while talking in it:
This is a classic and might be experienced by lot of people.  Once I was talking with my friend in mobile and told him that I'm leaving to office. After 1 to 2 minutes of conversation he asked me "are you still at home? why u haven't started?" I told him that "I'm looking for my mobile, don't know where I kept". Then I realized I'm talking in the mobile phone. It was so embarrassing.

Restarting computer when Internet was slow:
Once I was looking for a solution in Google. Sometimes it will be irritating when u know the issue is so simple but not able to solve after spending 4 hours on it. Suddenly internet became slow. Then I restarted machine to see if something can speedup. Then only I realized internet is not part of the computer and nothing will happen by restarting machine.

Looking for access machine instead of ringing the door bell at home:
One day I worked late night and reached home at mid night. May be I was little sleepy that time, I stood infront the door with my office access card. For couple of seconds I searched for access machine to swipe the card, then I saw a switch with bell symbol on it. It was so funny. Luckily nobody were around to make fun of it.

Absent mindedness is not a big concern if that happens once in a year.

Petrol hike

Huh. Petrol price is hiked again this year and it is touching a whopping 80 rupees figure. I was analyzing the situation and got this funny idea to compare between what common man thinks and what actually happened.

What common man thinks:

  • Congress government has failed completely in controlling prices. We should not vote for this party again.
  • It is all because of corrupted politicians.
  • See petrol prices in Pakistan & Bangladesh. It is very low. Only in India why we are paying so much. ( Even though common man doesn't know what is the real prices in those countries) Government should give subsidy in our country.

What actually happened:
  • Common man never understood the value of limited resources like petrol, electricity, water etc
  • As per my Googling last year car sales were around 2 lakhs and bike sales were around 8 lakhs. These kind of figures over recent years has increased the gap between demand and supply.
  • Common man never encouraged alternate methods to petrol like using Gas & Electricity. He always gave silly reasons for avoiding them.
  • People started buying cars just to show off. They think that, now we are earning more and we should have a car.
  • Government doesn't have control over petrol prices. Companies have independence to take decision on increasing petrol prices. So there is no point in blaming government alone.
I hope you guys understood the real issue. Stop blaming others and start taking action for your own benefit.

PS: Use bi-cycle if your work place is near to your home. Try using public transport whenever you have chance to use them.

Change is possible

Back in my memories, I remember that I made statements "Nothing going to change" and "Why should I change?". But today I can say "Change will always happen in everyone's life in many ways" and "I have to change for better life".

In 5 years time, many things happened. I started caring for people. I'm planning for my future and country's future. I'm understanding the responsibilities of an Indian citizen.

We generally hear India's future in the hands of youth. That was a great news. But I thought of myself, What I'm exactly doing. Talking more to computer (FB, twitter) than to my family members. Killing the creative sector by downloading movies and songs for free from internet. Forwarding Global warming emails rather than taking any action. As I wanted to see some change in the world, I felt like starting the change from my side. I stopped watching pirated movies. I started using Bi-cycle to office. I started talking directly with the people more openly and honestly. I wouldn't have believed, If some one said 5 years back that I'm going to do all these things. My life has changed a lot and whatever happened, it happened for good.

Earlier with friends, I used to be there for shopping and boozing. But I was never there in their problems, their needs. But now I try to be there in their life both in problems and happiness.

I changed myself a lot and it going to help me and others around me. Now I completely believe our country is going to change in good ways. As long as we believe we can change bad to good.

For all the readers: If you have changed anything in your life for good, please add it in comments section. Someone may get inspiration from your life.
