Going to Heaven

Now a days, it's became a daily routine to debate with my mom. I think, i can write a book: "101 debates with my mom". The latest debate is again regarding god.People who have missed my opinion about god, can take a look into my previous post Understanding God.

She wants me to pray every day, that will take me to heaven. It is a very common belief in lot of people, mainly in hindu community.

But in the same hindu community vedas gives definition about Arishadvargas, which are considered as enemies for human life. kama (lust), krodha (anger), lobha (greed), moha (delusion), mada (pride) and matsarya (jealousy) are the bad things which prevents you from growing up. I really got so much of inspiration from these lines.

I simplified this and explained to my mom.
  • Love everyone in the world. I mean don't hate any one.
  • Don't lie to any one. Be loyal to every one.
  • Don't love money.
  • Don't try to be on top of every one. Try to be friendly with every one.

If you do all these things, you can see heaven in earth.

My mom won't agree with me for anything, but she still care for me a lot. That is called as Mother's Love.

  2. Vijay what you said was truth. Doing good work is path to heaven on earth.

Praying God is nothing but, believing in God. There is no harm in worshiping God. Just imagine if you’re assigned some work in your office and if no one is there to monitor your work then you will not utilize all the time you stay in office. That is nature of being human. When you know that your manger will review your work. Then you will be careful about your activities in office. So, our elder’s smarty created virtual manager (God) to monitor our daily life activities. Devotion to God will make us cautious about what we speak, and do.

  3. Hey lavanya,
The way you related manager & god is very nice. Yes, there is no harm in praying god. But it is not right to force someone to pray.
